Ascend is built on a simple principle: your career data belongs to you. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with employers, and we don't use it to build advertising profiles. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide the service: your account information (name, email), career data you enter (contacts, opportunities, goals, resume, notes), and integration data you authorize (Gmail messages, calendar events). We also collect standard usage analytics to improve the product.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide Ascend's features to you. AI features process your data to generate personalized career advice, but your data is never used to train AI models and is never shared with AI providers in a way that identifies you.

Advertising

After beta, the free tier will include contextual ads. These ads are based on general career stage and interests — never on your personal data, identity, or the content of your communications. No personal information is shared with advertisers.

Data Ownership & Deletion

You own your data. You can export it at any time. You can delete your account at any time, and all your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and all applicable privacy regulations.
